It's like an FJ Cruiser. But without the good looks!

I've liked the DC100 concept from the beginning, but I know a lot of Land Rover die-hards hate it.

Who cares ? It will still cost a fortune to run and need a marriage certificate to a local garage to own it

Personally I hope it looks more like the DC100 concept rather than Autocar's artist impression of what it could look like above.

I'm not a big fan of cars but it seams a long and painful wait to see what it will look like...

It sounds like the old Defender will go out in style with a special projects edition for the final run???

It also seams like there will be more concept versions of the new defender next year, but the press are saying that the final design has now been signed off and it will be the most capable Land Rover ever...

I understand Willk has got a couple on pre order! to tow his Redbay demonstrators.

I am not a lover of Landies as such but I think the Defender design is the work of an Artisan. I can't look at one without thinking how much it looks fit for purpose. I think its a shame they changed the design especially for this one which I think looks like the Village Peoples tour bus

I will be interested to see that with a cherry picker, bales of hay / sheep in the back, pushing gates open on farms, wading through rivers, working in a quarry etc. I do not understand why manufacturers don't offer what the working market wants, a basic practical , easy to maintain , simple vehicle? We don't need another Discovery / Freelander / Tarts Handbag.

...
The type of Farmers round here would soon "Knock the Edges"off that thing!
Plenty of US!...(or at least some)... often need a Heavy Duty Dry Bag....and NOT a Crap made over expensive Gucci Glad Bag!
Shame to see another British Icon go...more to the point..I reckon they've missed a massive trick!

I must 'Defend' my fellow test-monkey! His trusty LR does just fine with the Redbay demos and when it breaks down my Mitzy does the job

No need for anything else on pre-order just yet.
