Wimp! I have done a lot of diving in the UK and caught a fair few lobsters with a litter picker, agree need to be humane and a quick blade in the head is the right thing to do. Plus throw back any carrying eggs.

You get get rope with lead in it to keep it from floating, I wouldn't use floating rope or a combination of floating and sinking.

Don't do what people were doing off Eastbourne earlier this year - attaching glow-sticks to the buoys to make them easier to find in the dark. Cue lots of worried calls to the Police, HMCG, etc., about 'strange lights in the water'

That's standard practice here since we only can use hoop nets hear and need to pull then up multiple times per night. Besides glow sticks, people like little red flashers!
