Yeh I also get that feeling then when you float off the trailer and trim down the engine go to turn the key... and then you realise that the ignition key is still in the car

Rule no.2. Never cast off unless the motor is running.

You are clearly just a beginner! When the "crew" ask - is it supposed to be filling up with water and your feet get wet... ...inside your wellies...

or you reverse off the trailer with the back strap still attached...

or you spend ten minutes doing everything to start it only to realise the kill cord is not connected...

or you've misconnected the throttle and gear cables so the more you try to stop the more it accelerates!

...and these things only happen with an audience
