I had a similar problem with my 16gb, it kept reporting that it was out of memory, but when I plugged it into iTunes it showed that half of the 16gb was occupied by "other" in addition to apps, music, documents etc. Apparently this is a known bug & the memory becomes corrupted. I did a full reset & restored it from a backup, the phone was completely restored & I had 9gb of free space.

I love all the Apple v the world arguments, I've spent many years supporting Apple and how they come up with innovations that we never realised we needed then go mad for and soon everyone is copying.

Now big city companies are swapping Blackberries for iPhones because they are far easier to write apps for than the competition, more secure and the iOS is far less power hungry so nuff said.

You could take an original iPhone and still do pretty much all the tasks we need from day to day, I'm not really sure what people expect of Apple these days, it's an oblong box with a glass screen, yes, over priced but now at least colourful - what else do we need?

Really, have you written many iOS apps? I don't know many developers who think ObjectiveC is "far easier to write" apps in than Java! iOS isn't the outright winner in the security stakes either. US Military chose Samsung Knox (an Android variant) over alternatives. Companies aren't swapping Blackberries for iPhones because of technical reasons - its quite simply to keep employees happy. If you don't cooperate they will start trying to work around your security which creates holes - its easier to embrace with proper systems than fight it.

I've also not seen much evidence that iOS is far less power hungry than Android. Tighter developer controls might mean that you get fewer power wasting apps via the App Store, but that is not the OS that is doing that - its apple deciding what you are and aren't allowed to do with your phone. That is a double edged sword.

Anchor handler. Apparently the failure of the top right button is due to water ingress. I had the same problem with mine and took it in to the apple store where they gave me a nice new shiney one with no questions asked. Other than is it likely your phone might have got wet? I didn't tell him about either my rib addiction or that I'm team manager of a swimming cub!!!

I have an iPhone 5, and watched the latest release video on youtube out of curiosity. The new iPhone 5s has some pretty nifty advancements far beyond what other companies are doing. Apple is still setting the standard in innovation. With that said, buy what ever you like and will be happy with. There is a reason there are other solutions on the market, some have features an iPhone doesn't and I wish they did.

Unfortunately I am stuck with Apple products since I have hundreds of dollars in apps, and they transfer to my iPad. I looked at other tablets when buying my iPad, but the iPad won out overall, and money was not the deciding factor.

Definitely a grower, for example, deleting mails etc is not so initially intuitive.

Like the quick access to some functions like Bluetooth and wifi by the upward screen sweep

Like all things they grow on you. Current full fat RR looks great now, wasn't sure to start with!!

Is this going to make rib.net more stable?!!
