stolen boat! (how to not buy?)

I planning to buy 2 Laser dinghies(used). Do you know if i can check boatnumber/sailnumber somewhere?

I don´t want to buy a stolen boat.

I want to buy the boat in uk and take it to sweden!

In the end of this summer i will take a trip to uk for rib:testing and on my way home i will pick up 2 laser dinghies.

As a parent that has bought "lots " of boats for my kids I can tell you that it would be very rare to get a stolen laser complete with rig and measuring certs etc etc. Like buying a motorcycle buy it in the middle of winter when prices are depressed. The Laser europeans are on in France at the moment and there will be bargains to be had if you could get down.
