If a ticket arrives PM me before a you do anything else.

However 78 on your speedo may equate to about 76 in real terms.

General rule of thumb as mentioned above on enforcement guidelines is speed limit plus 10% plus 2 mph. Unless its changed recently.

Luke. if it was 78 then your actual speed was likely to be 76. as a tester if u have one. go to 70 and see what your gps measures.
As the boys have said. 2 weeks from date of offence. if it does come within that time then ask for a calibration check on the camera and evidence that it had been done also photographic evidence... i got off Scott free as they didn't come up with the Calibration sheet!
Another one. was it fixed or mobile camera? if it mobile then were there adiquate signs with the yellow banding around advising drivers that there is a mobile speed trap ahead!
Good Luck

It was a VW transporter police van parked behind a road sign with what looked like a camera box sat on the floor just by the bottom of the sign

That could be an ANPR system and not a speed camera, as speed vans have to have signage all over them is my understanding

2 weeks on & no ticket!!!!

Think it was an ANPR system cause when i drove past there was no signs or warning of the amera & you couldnt see the van.
Also my girlfriend drove past later & there was a bloke with a speed gun. why would you stand on the side of a daul carriage way with a gun when theres a fixed camera right there too, so mustve been an ANPR

Just to check.. are you the registered keeper of the vehicle ? and if so , do you live at the address its registered to ?

As to ANPR ..its certainly possible .. although up my way they put a notice up outside the car saying what its doing (ANPR duties) .. oh and if this is the case, is your MOT and Tax up to date then ?
