It worked on my car radio as well, it went fast when a matt black person stole it in London a number of years back, I nearly caught him but boy he could run

Nope, it's definitely there 3mm ally is plenty when you've got a padded 'arris.

A lot of super cars get wrapped to protect the bodywork - Don't be tempted to try it on a RIB though.

Looked good on a G500(maybe 550?) AMG I saw the other day.

Seems to be a trend. There was a boat at the Miami boat show they were calling Midnight Express. Matte black everything with triple Seven Marine 557's on it. They claim that the matte black finish was slowing them down... They were doing in the 80 mph range though.

Actually, vinyl wrap is quite easy to apply. i've got a chunk of it round the plotter and grab handle on the Ballistic console to act as a scratchguard.

The 'chrome' wrap is quite good for tarting up old aluminium parts too. Any muppet with a hairdryer and a scalpel can do it.

It is not uncommon to see vehicles with the hood painted flat black. It is not a wrap on at least some cause I felt a couple to see what it was. My trespassing neighbor (Uses our driveway as a thru road, but not for long as I am gating it next week), thinks he is a pimp and has a Chevy Tahoe, with a partial wrap (More like stickers) for his window tinting business, and yes the hood is flat black on a white base color vehicle.

Looks to me more like someone crashed their car and replaced a panel and couldn't afford to color match it LOL

I get the carbon hoods as they are lighter, and do look cool.

I think in Manchester it used to signify with a white vehicle and black bonnet that the car is a taxi.
