One of my colleagues has done this - but with mixed success. He presumes the problem is with the PC-headset link quality though rather than a Skype issue.

you are not up todate. You can now download Skype2 and get a better vision reception. I use it every day with our subsidiary in Poland. have saved loads on phone calls and now at least can see the person on the other end

It is for sure best to use the headset . If the other party is using say a microphone and speakers then the reception is very bad as the microphone will pick up the sound from the speakers and then transmit to your earphones.

If you have downloaded Skype2 and want to connect a web cam then that must be of good quality . I use the Logitech 400 and this one has a built in microphone so best to disable it as it picks up lots of noise and nearby conversations which makes it unbearable to listen to by the other party

Oooh yes. Was using version 2.0.0.63 and have now upgraded to 2.0.0.69.

That extra 0.0.06 will make all the difference!

I find audio and video quality on skype to be superior to say MSN video calling. I use Skype with folk back in England and MSN to speak to the wife during the week where she stays out in the Boonies teaching. Its also simple enough even for my technowrinkly parents to use with ease which is a bonus!
