Really? It's not normally especially hard to get building consent in Salcombe (as long as it's changes to a standing structure). I can think of plenty of developments over the last decade and they are building flats and a restaurant in island street, right behind that boat shed.

They have by all account tightened up on planing in the town!
As for building flats I do not think so have a look! http://www.hannafords-landing.co.uk/ if this is what you are thinking about? Offices, dentists, work shop cafe & restaurant but no flats.
I can only speak form that the local planing officer said & it was very negative, they want to keep what jobs & industry is left in Salcombe.

Yeah that's the place - thought there were flats above. Better than the old bits-and-bobs shop that used to be there anyway!

It's a bit late to try retaining industry in Salcombe. The only real industry now is selling pastel coloured rugby shirts during the summer.

Boatshed

Not much of a boat shed Nick...
You would only be taking a few boats in at a time...
If I had the money I would keep it as a personal launch pad.

Wonder if they will be allowed extend the slip.

Would that be the Banana Shack?

Apparently there's also a garage for sale at £100k in the cul-de-sac off Coronation road. It's getting like Mayfair down there!
