It was mentioned before that sailing had alot to offer.
If you consider the clippers a centuary ago did 400 N. Miles per 24 hours sailing west to east around the capes to Oz.
That is an average (think dark night and storm...) of up to 20 kts ( I am too lazy to divide) on high seas....
Match that with a rib if you can....

Damn I love that video. Get's my blood pumping every time I see it.

Best I've sustained speed I've ever managed on a sailboat is around 14-15 knots. I can't imagine going as fast as those VO 70's. Sure would like to though!!
