RYA Membership - when will I get my card?

Hi guys,

I signed up for RYA membership some time last week and have opted for the Direct Debit option.

I was hoping that my membership card would arrive before tomorrow as I am going to the London Boat Show but I still haven't received anything. I emailed membership support and they said that if I went to the RYA stand they would print me one there. Do they not send one out in the post? Is it something you manually have to collect?

I'm a bit confused. Am I not going to end up with two cards if I get one at the show and one is sent to me?

It could be that they're not sending them out - the post in Hampshire is suffering at the moment!

I'd suggest that what they're printing out at the boat show would be some sort of temporary card/authorisation, so you can take advantage of member discounts and the show lounge.

Seem to recall mine took a couple of weeks from application to arrive in the post.

Still, if they are offering to deal with it on the stand, that's as good as it needs to be.
