Rescued a little Jetboat (big engine) on the weekend

I took my Quicksilver out for its first day of the season after being mothballed up for the past few months. Launched from Baiter in Poole, all was going well, so jollied out towards Old Harry's & chilled out for a bit.

Call on Ch 16 - Any vessels in Studland bay able to assist with a small blue boat apparently in trouble near the breakwater? So I piped up, not far away & shall go and investigate.....

Found this floundering near the beach, with a rather peeved off chap at the helm now it was pretty flat except for some monstrous 4ft waves lining up (could have surfed them easily) so threw him a line & towed him back to Baiter where he plied me with some beer tokens as thanks.

Looked a lot of fun when it works, 2.5L inboard race engine & merc outdrive only about 9ft long. Dead electrics killed it off & no comms.

It was definately an ex race boat from the USA, there are a couple over here in the UK according to the owner.
