Anyone use a reliable one?

I do not trust any of them.

I have tried a few different ones and they all remove things they should not if left on automatic.

you need to run them and then manually go through the list and remove what you need to (google the ones you do not know).

Also look at all the stuff started up in the background / hidden when windows starts, loads are not required for normal use and just slow down the computer.

I've used this product WinCleaner

They call it 'One Click' but it actually lets you select exactly what you want to delete / keep.

Got if free on a cover disk - cleans out all sorts of temporary file crap as well.

No adverse effects having run it a few times (including the registry cleaner)

I agree - unless you REALLY know what you are doing you should leave the reg well alone.

If you want to know just how crap Norton is look in the reg after it's been removed - leaves more crap than a virus!!!
