Re-upholstery WARNING

Hi Guys, I'll take caution when penning this post however, the reader will be most able to utilise their grey matter and that of any half decent search engine to consider their choice of partners, if I simply advise the following.

I recently had call to employ the use of an upholsterer to assist in recovering some seat cushions and fabricating a centre console cover, I found a company based in Aberystwyth, who promptly attended my 20 foot Sea Pro and quoted £3k for a cover. After picking myself up off the floor, we agreed on £450 for a consol cover and some reupholstery. The proprietor, a Scot, sought £150 deposit to secure the work in swift fashion and cover the cost of materials, which I gave as I believed him a decent bloke, as I'd seen his work elsewhere. Unfortunately, some 8 week later, I have no completed work and despite 100 Calls, texts and emails, I have yet to speak to the clown again. Today I issued an online claim for my deposit plus costs.
So beware, don't do business with any upholstery services in Aberystwyth.
To the moderator. Given no names have been mentioned, I hope this post will remain. Thanks and beware.

There appear to be at least two upholstery outfits in Aberystwyth. Seems a pity to boycott both of them! Maybe JK will approve a "naming" on here - we'll get back to you.

I don't have any problem with established RIBnet members naming and shaming suppliers who have let them down, with the strict proviso that any claims made are truthful and can be substantiated. New members, particularly anyone who appears to have registered purely to use RIBnet as a big stick, may be viewed with suspicion however!

Naming the supplier that is the subject of the complaint gives the right of reply and ensures that other companies are not mistakenly affected.

So tread carefully, but bring it on.

You could always name who it isn't, and that would get around the problem

You could also write a review on Upholsterers in*Aberystwyth | Reviews - Yell that would give a wider audience that Ribnet.

SUCO Leisure

Just bringing this thread back to the fore as the owner contacted me after posting a poor review on yell.com and promised togive me my money back, that was 5 weeks ago and still no funds, si I've posted other reviews and sent him the links. If he googles himself this will come up again.

Sorry for disturbing the forum.
