Classic - the commentary adds a certain something as well. Obviously yet another product of the advanced police driving skool.......

That driver should be taken off of blue light driving ASAP.

Reminds me of a classic I saw one night.

A Police car was driving at high speed with his blue lights on - slight problem was he had NO other lights on - at 2am!!! I phoned the traffic unit and said "I think one of your traffic cars has been stolen". When the copper asked why I said - "surely no police driver would drive without lights?" - the controller was horrified and I could hear someone screaming at the driver on the radio in the background!!!

Seriously though the standard of Police driving leaves a lot to be desired these days as proved by the major jump in accidents they now have.

Codders,

They all have to do certain courses to drive different vehicles.

The problem is one of age. Too many young coppers who want to put the world to rights, with no experience of the real world, all left to their own devices.

The older more mature ones tend to leave or find a nice little office job. Of which their are more and more non essential ones.

Policing has gone the way of the NHS, funding lead with no relevance to what is needed in the real world. Trouble is there is too much money floating around for grandiose schemes. Patrolling the beat is seen as the starting block for bigger and not necessarily better things.

IMHO the beat should be where the Police concentrates its resources. Doesn't seem that way to the average Joe Public.

I'll get off my Soap Box now.

Hadn't thought of that - very good point.

I don't think it's JP that's the problem - we all want more bobbies on the beat - it's the powers that be that think we need armed police in helicopters and using spy drones(seriously)!!!
