Pennyless student seeks job

Ok here's the situation. I'm at Portsmouth universaty, and I'm a pennyless and lowly student. Before I came here I thought food majically found it's way into the cupboard and then onto my plate. Since arriving I've descovered that you have to go to shops and buy stuff and that it is in fact quite expensive. The amount of alchohol I drink probably doesn't help my huge expenditure over the past 3 weeks.

I therefore need to find a job. Is there anyone on here who needs a part time person to do something. Preferably to do with boats although I'm not toooo fussy. I have a car so can travel a short distance from Portsmouth but not too far.

Please help; if I can't find a job I'm going to be living off Asda value 8p chicken flavor noodles for the nex 9 weeks

Can't help I am afraid but if you are REALLY desperate get a night job in your local petrol station - money is not too bad for sitting on your arse all night!!!

Mate of mine does exactly that - just doing last year of his law degree.

That doens't actually sound like a bad job. If nothing else comes up I shall explore that idea

Don't know about your area but in Swansea mate of mine owns a chain of filling stations - he is ALWAYS desperate for staff - they pay about £5.80 per hour around here but maybe more where you are.

you could try the marine store at port solent....you might get a staff discount which you could then pass on to the good people of RIBnet, most notably myself for suggesting the idea

Actually Tim I had thought about asking in there. Judging by the large numbers of young people that seem to work behind the till in there I am guessing they don't pay too well. (Wouldn't do me a student discount when I asked). Also note they have 20% off Musto coastal and inshore clothing at the moment.....

There must be someone on here who would like to emply a student for £20 an hour to do very little

The only place in Pompey where a student can "earn" £20 an hour for doing very little is around Queen Street..

Try one of the all-night supermarkets.. Night shift work would save you money twice, once to earn, and the second when you can't go out in the evenings to spend it..

No but they do deals for commerical skippers, about 15% if its a decent order.

Put your self on standby for a couple of weekends painting and decorating. Pay is awful, boss a tirant, but includes a free lunch.

Pete
