The revenue are very amenable at the moment in allowing you to 'pay up' any demands, and what they charge in interest, is cheaper than any bank at the moment, so I'd use that facility to good effect. If you can get a professional adviser, they may be able to mitigate the revenues claim, but then you'd have to consider the cost of employing them to do so. If you have to pay it , dont send them post dated cheques, last time I did that they cashed them at the same time .. how about that ? .. when queried, they and the bank said it was 'just' an error .. yeah right . Also .. Ive noticed that when I send a cheque to customs or revenue, it clears from my bank instantly all of a sudden the mysterious bank clearing system operates without any delay what so ever !!
