New Satnav to put in the works truck

I'm looking for a new Satnav to put in the works truck, any makes to go for or avoid + any features worth spending extra to have or that it should come with, its been years since I looked at any with the Navara's having them built in

Jim

The Tomtom's seem to still top most tables in tech magazines and websites. I believe the Garmin and Navman are the next two inline. Make sure you go for one with lifetime map updates though, as you'll save money in the long run.

Tom tom go5000 every time, lifetime maps for free, built in sim card for real live traffic, will save you a lot of business money.

Would not be without it, compact, very accurate and all for around £200-250.

If you want to tether from your phone take the go500 only difference is the built in sim.

I think google maps on an ipad using 3g is the fecking dogs .. but if it goes down to gprs speeds, (or no signal coverage at all) your screwed, so I always have a pure gps system as backup , but cos its free and super accurate and up to date, nothing else matches it.

Ive just bought a new Isuzu Dmax ... and it came fitted with a Pioneer AVIC-F860BTsystem which is shit !

Ive got fed up of the tom toms and garmin bespoke units due to the cost of the maps being a dripping roast .

I use a Snooper. A bit more expensive than most sat navs, but they are surgically designed for trucks, vehicles with trailers, etc so the route planning is much better and you can set all your dimensions to avoid low bridges etc.
