Mystery Photo

What is the subject in this pic? What took the pic? What position did it take the pic from?

No prizes - just a whole raft of better pics and a video!

I'll give a half a point for the obvious. Anyone else prepared to use their Google finger and join the dots?

Dunk test ??

I thought the image was initially a reflection on the display screen from the ROV camera ??

Is the lifeboat undergoing self righting testing and the ROV is nearby ??

Its the control console for a ROV (Remote Operated Vehicle) presumably the ROV is sat on the deck of an RNLI ALB

The reflection looks like a person to me. Orange jacket with black stripes. Is he onboard or within it ?

Photo looks to be of a Severn or Trent. Guessing a SAR ROV took the pic , buggered if I know where from though but the sea is a good guess!

I see that I must be more precise in the challenges that I set. Full marks to Karl for turning the tables.

M'pologies, I was referring to the image on the Seabotix screen.

OK then Smarties, it is a Trent (minding it's own business on a mooring).

The Seabotix ROV is providing the image to monitor.

But, where is the ROV? The seaweed is a good clue....

Nice work Sherlock.

OK, yis are brutal altogether. That image was captured by an ROV, (the LBC - Little Benthic Crawler) which was at that moment driving along the hull of a Trent, looking UP from below the waterline... you RNLI lads wanna get the hull scrubbers on a shorter rotation

I'll pop the other photos and video on later today.
