Still No Argument L200 L200 L200

The good thing in a diccussion like this, is that, when the other side starts flining insults .... you know you have won!!!!!

I Love LR , and had one, still read LR world etc ........ But we have to live in the real world........ Not up a tree with a tent on top... that what hotels are for

L200 IS BETTER FOR EVERDAY LIFE .......

LR WILL BE UNCOMFERTABLE, AND NEVER USED TO IT FULL POTENTAL ........

L 200 tows 4500kg no problem !

TO DHIL DAVIS

I have a L200 45k on the clock, I have put oil and diesel and filters in to it ... and thats it .......MY disco in 30K cost me 1 clutch and oil seal(oil seal leaked ) 1 clutch fork, 1 steering damper , 2 wheel bearings , 1 slave cylinder ........

2 X FICHTS 400hrs ... about 30 plugs , 4 sets of anoides , one ecu repaire.

BACK TO LR .... Just face facts ... you Brits cant build cars , jeeps or trucks for peanuts, leave it to the Germans and the Japs :

But RIBS.... now thats a different story !!!!!!

Get way with you!, you're well informed, perhaps you'd like to tell Ford's advertising department who have been (and still are) claiming it's the best selling SUV for THIRTEEN YEARS IN A ROW

Care to explain this comment? Your original intimation was that I'd bought an early model Explorer with out your extensive knowledge. Would you like to tell me were you got that Idea from?

Can't believe I have missed this thread - until now - prob just as well.........

Has anyone actually mentioned resale value in 3 years???

I have also been looking at getting a new TD5 110 CSW - not as nice as a double cab which can look well smart when tricked up a bit - but more practical for me!

I looked at s/h values and even at say 3 years they are still really expensive - so much so that it makes far more sense to buy new! A Defender holds it's value like no other - I really was suprised.

Quite agree with all the comments on leaf springs - only vans and lorries use them these days although the Yanks were still using them on the corvette until quite recently - says it all really!!!

Mate has a Warrior and neither of us is impressed with it - he only gets about 20mpg and he was forced to admit my 1987 110 CSW rides better - it is obviously also quicker and quieter but then it is a V8!!!

To be honest after using my V8 the diesel was a bit dissapointing and as I only want it for a long distance tow vehicle for my RIB I have decided to get a Discovery and keep my 110 for offroading.
