Mildly Smutty Names

Found myself mildly amused at a well endowed BA hostess with a spoof nametag that read

Norma Snockers

so I researched some other silly names and came up with these 2 gems

Gloria Stitts

Shaw Twilley

By the way, how are you Stu ?

Do you remember that great Benny Hill sketch , where the lovely lass goes out of one door marked " Push " , through another marked " Pull " and straight into Benny . Trouble was she had a big name badge on her glorious chest marked " Pat " .

Betty and Leggs

Sad to say, I have seen albeit some years ago......

'Betty Swolox'
and
'Leggs Apart'

Just imagine calling Portland or Solent CG.

Are there now 'restrictions' imposed by the appropriate authorities on registering 'obscene' boat names? (Doug Storm or Paul G might have the answer)

Funnily, in life I've never met a 'Mike Hunt' yet, but I bet someone somewhere with that name has invented a hedge/bush trimmer thats been called after him

There used to be a Kite shop in Salsbury called Cunning Stunts.

You try swapping the St and c around and then trying to say the correct name again

very smutty

There used to be a boat on the Hamble called LEG, the VHF call would go “….. This is LEG OVER”

I also remember a boat on the Forth called SLOPPY THE SECOND

I don’t think there is any restriction on what you name the boat (as you will see below). In fact the reason we are allocated a call sign is due to the fact that boats can have the same name or unpronounceable name. That said according to the Wireless radio telegraphy act you may not use profanity when broadcasting or transmitting by marine VHF,

This thread prompted me to have a look at the ITU MARS database, (global list of ships that have registered for a marine radio license).

It appears there are no less than 14 boats registered called FUCHA, they are all German or Austrian

There is also one called FUCUS which I found quite amusing

Searching further I found there fat to many to count (about 100) that stated FUKU…,. Would be interesting to hear

“XYZ Coastguard, XYZ Coastguard, XYX Coastguard, FUK U Over”

There is a French boat called BOLLAX

There is a US boat called CUM CUM

There is a Danish boat called TIT and 3 called PRIK

There is one called DICKE LIPPE (also German)

I quite like an Irish one called SUCKIN’ DIESEL

There are about 20 called WET DREAM or WET DREAMS, mainly American but a Dutch and UK one- what were they thinking with that name.

My absolute favourite however is a Brazilian ship called WANKA TANKA imaging that on your CV as ships Master

They are all genuine.

There was a boat called "Cunning Linguist" that came into the Forth a couple of years ago.
