I used to chuckle when I walked past the PPE shelving in the stores, our ear defenders from Bilsom had the model name "Ultra Muff"...

Overtook a yacht in Falmouth Bay a couple of days ago, thought it was called "Genital Chaos!". Closer inspection revealed it to be General Chaos but I know what I'm calling my next boat!!

The TOP gas/petrol station in Muff* (an actual village in Donegal, Ireland) used to pay to advertise on Caw roundabout in Derry. The local council obligingly erected (ho ho) signs amid the flowers saying "Sponsored by Top Muff" - it always cheered my day

Some wise guy has developed this site: http://www.muffdivingclub.ie/

It's a spoof site but unusual as it has a .ie domain, which is not so easy to get here - bit of wool pulling done there somewhere.

* I always hoped they'd twin with either Twatt in Shetland or Nobber in Co. Meath - imagine the signage

I once had to deal with a lawyer called A Swindle, which I thought humourous enough, however not being able to stop myself, I asked him why he didn't use his first name, he said "what,Adam..."

There *IS* a diving club in Muff, Co. Donegal. It's called Muff Diving Club (surprisingly)

Well there you go alt! I've been diving in the N/W since 1991 and haven't heard of them. The Coastguard haven't either. Or my other diving buddies, or CFT, or PADI.

They can't go down very often!
