McAfee

For some reason this afternoon I keep getting a blocker on the site at top of page every time I renew the quick links. It says it has reviewed the page and removed suspect content.
Anybody got any info on this or is it just my app of McAfee?

Don't understand these virus et al packages like McAfee that you have to pay for. I used them in the past when running Windows OS machines...they were all intrusive, invasive and cost money.

The last three years of Windows OS machines I ran Microsoft Security Essentials...costs nothing to download, provides all the protection I ever needed, is written by Microsoft for Windows OS machines, is updated daily as far as I could make out, wasn't invasive or intrusive and never gave a me a moments grief. Just like owning a Mac, in fact

I've just got my dad a new laptop which came with a free 30 day trial of McAfee. First thing I did out of the box was get rid of it.

Snap - I've used AVG (free edition) for years and find it much faster than McAfee

+1

I've used AVG in the past and it was fine, but MSE is easier and has been flawless so far.

I wouldn't touch anything from McAfee or Symantec.

For home use the free versions of avg, avira, avast, and Microsoft security essentials are perfectly adequate and seem to slow your PC down less than the well known paid for security apps.

For business use the only legal free anti virus is Microsoft security essentials (and you have to be a small business with less than 10 PC's to legally use it). For larger businesses we recommend the paid for AVG products.
