I blame Ribnet for a lot of marital discord. Mine is forever grumbling about it: "what are you doing on the bl**dy ribthing again?, come into the sitting room, I need to talk to you about X,Y,Z, whatever..."

I explain to her that given my choice of either enduring more bitching, whining, grumbling, complaining, belittling, sniping and pettiness or talking to her, - I'll stick with Ribnet.

Sitting room

My suggested remedy;

You need to turn the existing sitting room into a gear storage room, and designate that the new sitting room is the one that is furnished with jockey seats and flanked by inflatable tubes. Also, any future discussions of X,Y,Z or whatever need to be done at WOT (preferably in choppy conditions). Always listen, while performing a task that requires 75% of your attention.

I wasn't married yet just engaged 22 years ago with a fixed date to be married. She still wanted to take everything.

No... not so far anyway!

Most of my friends are avid divers, and several of them are Ribbers or Hard Boaters. And literally all of us are divorced and some remarried. (One of them, a former Welshman, recently announced that he was celebrating 40 years of marriage... The total of his five marriages!)

Apparently these hobbies are problematic in the marriage department!

Mrs Stoo v.1.0 didn't want everything, just "her" 7/8th! When I was removed from my paid-for house, I took I chair, I stereo, 1240 CDs, an extensive library of diving books and not much else. It was oddly liberating!

Like I always say, it was the best $880,000 I have ever spent!
