Totality not until about 10:45 though - not much point in looking too early. I have seen quite a few of these - it's a total SOLAR eclipse I want to see - pref without cloud!!!

Started in North Devon, drove all over the bloody place looking for Sunshine and even into Cornwall that day. Ended up sitting on a Cliff in South Devon looking at cloud.

Still it was amazing to be in total silence with hundreds of people sitting around, watching the darkness comming along the cliffs untill it plunged us into the dark stuff. You could see all the streetlamps along the coastline light up.

Worth the hundeds of miles driven that day, even with cloud.

When's the next one?

No thanks - I have watched my mates kids grow up though - scary when all of a sudden the oldest is learning to drive - she was 5 when I first met them.

Anyway back on topic the moon looked awesome - looked at it through binoculars and it was like a fiery red ball - the stars next to the moon you normally can't see were crystal clear.

I know it's sad but here they are anyway....

1...partial
2...almost total
3...total (just)

Quality of these not too great but was very eerie viewed through binoculars.

Sadly I was out in town lastnight, so didn't get any snaps myself. What a contrast in the weather today!!

lunatics

Great shots Robin! The drink doesn't seem to affect you at all. At all.

1999 was my first time 'eclipsing' 100 at The Belfry with trusty Big Bertha.

It was a bit misty tho'!!!
