He looks a bit chirpy for a lad who spent 66 days drifting in the Atlantic. Big lad though. I wonder is there more to this story?

66 days is going to test a persons will to live.

I bet he went through some nasty times.

Hmm... North Atlantic, winter time, upturned sailboats not exactly known for their rain water retention abilities.....66 days????? I think not.

my thoughts entirely ... dont want to do him an injustice, but how he survived for 66 days on a upturned hull? Maybe the boat only capsized in the last couple of days, and he was dismasted 60+ days ago?
Either way, he looks surprisingly well on the experience.

No doubt the story will be revealed soon. As you say, maybe he ended up on the hull very recently. But no comms or beacon on the boat? Possible I guess. Or he might have, um, popped down to the Car-RIB-ian for some, um, cargo

A sailing boat wont stay upside down for long unless you break the keel off. Its weighted and will roll the boat back, especially if the mast is gone. Perhaps it wasnt upside down the whole time - which would explain how he seems to be OK.

Either that, or its a fake an he will be publishing a best seller soon

Some have expressed scepticism about his story,
pointing out he showed no signs of sunburn, dehydration or other ailments.

he took his sailboat out to the Gulf Stream to find some better fishing,
when it capsized. He broke his shoulder when the boat flipped.
Because of the injury, Jordan couldn't repair the boat's mast,
which had snapped.
"Everything I owned got broken -- all my electronics, my GPS devices,"
Jordan said. He was dead in the water.
Jordan drifted in the Atlantic, rationing food and water
until his shoulder healed.
He was able to rig a makeshift mast and sail, Jordan said,
but he could make little headway against the currents.
"It took so long," he said. "It moved so slowly."
The boat capsized two more times before he was rescued, according to Jordan.

Survival
After his food and water ran out, it became an issue of survival.
Collecting fresh water was a nightmare for Jordan. The weather wouldn't cooperate.
"I had tried to collect (rain)water ... but every time the waves would splash
into the boat," Jordan said. "The waves would put saltwater
into my freshwater and it tasted bad.
"Finally the conditions were right. I filled up my water tank,
which is 25 gallons. I filled up a bucket."
Then there was the issue of food.
The fish weren't cooperating,
but after a while Jordan learned that they were attracted to his laundry
that he would put out to sea for a rinse.
The fish would swim in and out of his clothes
and he could easily scoop them up with a hand net, he said.

66 days is along time - tellingly the USCG chopper crew
that picked him up were "amazed" that he was in the condition
he was when they picked him up.
Ok so I am a cynical OB, but he is long term unemployed
and living on the boat on the river.
something fishy here and I dont mean his laundry.

But marginally more believable than the boat being upside down for 66 days with him clinging to the hull fishing and making water which is what I first assumed...
