Hi Sparticus,

I heard the mackerel quota has increased up there in Scotland, maybe less around up there or they fled south for the summer?

Depends what you mean by increased. They've got to get here first.
Oral question with debate - Implementation of Regulation (EU) No 1026/2012 with regard to unsustainable mackerel fishing in the North East Atlantic - O-000023/2013

Water temperature stills feels cold. We tried feathers and squid lures... nothing so far. Hopefully in the next few weeks.

The quote about the quota seems a bit grim, even the herring stocks are taking a bashing, I caught one swimming with the mackerel ( put him Back though )

Last week at Oban, we had enough combined fishing gear to empty the North Atlantic. Not 1 bite:nono:

If I can't catch anything after all this advice it's Dynamite and a large trawler.

The water on the West is still 4/5 degrees lower than normal.
