Confound those Narrow Boaters they'd cleaned our Lidl out of 8mm rope, ideal for shotlines but I could only get 60 metres.

Still loaded up on the other kit, the sailing gloves werent bad so got a pair to trash.

The anchor line with chain was crap - looked like something you would flush a toilet with!!!

Boat hook/mop/brush excellent quality though!!!

Thanks for spotting this one Pete. Just got a snorkel for the kids and some more mooring lines - they look just fine. Kids have tried snorkel in the bath and they are very happy

Lidl are back with their sailing and diving bargins from 10th May 07. No details on the web site but the instore leaflet gives details of wet suits for 19.99, masks snorkels and fins, ropes and Carabiners etc. There is even a sib for 300

It seems only certain stores sell SIBs - certainly not in Swansea!!! Maybe it's because the class of people who shop in Lidel in Swansea leave a lot to be desired - but then I suspect that's true of most Lidels in the UK!!!

Mr Prawn how very rude and patronising of you, didn't you buy your barometer from Lidl or was that not the Swansea branch, did you commute to the posh end of Port Talbot perhaps, I believe the Lidl there is a little more upmarket on the Sandfields estate!

Not at all - I occasionally go bargain hunting in Lidel but probably about 6 times a year - compare that to the regular Lidel shoppers - typically chavs of the lowest order. Mind you it could be down to the stores locations - at least in the south Wales area. They tend to be located near rough housing eststes rather than the better ends of town!!!

Have you actually been to the Sandfields estate and lived to tell the tale - amazing......

Lidels are the only stores I have seen where they have more security guards than checkout girls!!!
