learning to sail (again)

A friend and I want to take up sailing (no boo-hiss's please, i'm keeping the rib) we both have a RYA stage? 2? in sailing, she did hers a couple of weeks ago and i did mine 10 years ago! - what would be the best way to get back into it -

not sure where the best place to learn would be either - can anyone recommend a sailing center in the Herts/Beds/Bucks area? or alternatively we could do weekends on the south coast - where is the best place on the solent?

i learnt at Rockley Point in Poole last time, but don't really want to go that far this time...

cheers

Chris

Hi Chris,
I can recommend the Hamble School of Yachting on the River Hamble. They do Taster weekends as well as all of the RYA sailing courses which you can complete over a series of weekends. Also, you won't go hungry as the standard of food is very good!!!!

Hope this helps.

Hi Chris,
I used to work at QMSC (a long time ago) as a sailing instructor -

http://www.queenmary.org.uk/Training/trIntro.asp

Ribbing and dinghy sailing go very well together. We have a Ribeye, a mirror and a laser, alongwith kite surf gear and fishing stuff. Variety is the spice of life, and if the conditions change different sports give the exhillaration!
Go do it!!

I've done a few practical and theory courses with Stormforce Coaching at Kemps Quay in Southampton. Have always found the teaching to be excellent and the guys there have been very flexible and accommodating in helping me arrange dates.
