Gb!

Had a look at her passage on AIS site today. (Sad I know). Interesting that she passed between Herm and Sark and entered the Little Russell from the south?

Is it true that she was vandalised with graffiti whilst in the solent!

Was fully blue when I saw her - no writing in sight.

Le Grand Bleu is a little bigger than Guernsey, by transfering 300tonnes of fuel, is Guernsey likely to float away?

46p!!! See how much our government rips us off???

With big ships they pay bunker rates anyway - no tax as they usually then go into international waters with it.

Current rates are about £250 per ton so it cost £75,000 to fill.

The harbour reported £80,000 so you are spot on. It did look fantastic though.

So...if the specific gravity of Diesel is 80% that of H2O, that means 1200ltrs per tonne at £250.

So, about 21p/ltr. Bargain!

Thats not bad for Guernsey - I worked it out on Rotterdam prices which are the standard. I would have expected Guernsey to be quite a bit more as it's only a small island.

That's why our petrol prices are so disgusting. Without the tax Britain has some of the cheapest petrol anywhere as we have our own oil and a few refineries - little Guernsey has none of these things.

It is very expensive at the moment - used to be about 10p.

I think it still is in Libya and a few other places in the Middle East. They are the opposite of us - they actually subsidise their fuel...........

Remember these prices are for bunker oil - not diesel - that is about £80 more per ton.
