Large Hadron Collider

This has not been getting the press it should do http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Large_hadron_collider and as its nearing its first experiment in September, I'm quite interested to see the results, heres a vid about it here

Watched a prog on National Geographic about it the other night and was well impressed. Some ridiculous number of pictures being taken every second too

Anyone with Sky can see other showings on the 23rd @ 2100 (HD) and 26th @ 2000.

Because these conditions have never been created before, Its going to be interesting to see whats going to change about particle physics, once some results start to appear and explain previously unknown facts about this subject. I'm not big up the knowledge, but it would be fascinating if what we learn sheds light on new methods of power generation for example in the nuclear industry, perhaps helping the fusion reactor programs already under way
