2 gallon of the black stuff from waxoyl, lovingly applied and she'll be right as rain.
'O' and watch the salty stuff, it loves ally and steel for tea.

Preparation is the key, no point in putting it on over any rust.
Your best off waiting for summer giving it a good pressure wash then get under and remove any more you can see.
As for spraying it it'll be a horrible job and you'll be best to do the inside of the chassis too.
I know some people bung the chassis up fill it completely with old oil for a week so it get in everywhere and then drain it out.

Chewy is spot on. I clean mine off every Spring/early summer ,when the weather is dry.I get it bone dry then have good look and clean any loose rust off. I use a spray and long injector tubes to get in the chassis,|I got my TD 5 when it was 18 mnth old, it's now 10 years old and still looks good.

Sadly my dad passed away and his disco failed the MOT... miserably

13 different items on the failure and although I sort of learnt how to weld it was clear that I would need a little help with this one, so I found a guy who has a business called 'Swindon 4x4 Centre' and he did a great job helping me out.

I must've waited over a hour and a half today at the MOT and when the guy came back into the waiting room with a big grin on his face I thought the worst, but after tapping on his keyboard for a bit he looked up and said "it's better news this time, it's passed"!

Anyway, here's a picture of her today looking smug with her new ticket

Servicing next

Thanks bud, it's not over yet though as oil is dripping every where and I'm sure I saw water dripping from the water pump!

Keeping busy though

Failed to Appreciate the Land Rover System you have, Padawan Learner.

Protects chassis, dripping oil does. Likewise, pump working, Dripping Water Indicates.

Which is good, because the Indicators probably don't.

Actually it failed on indicators so I had to buy a secondhand unit that will probably fail in time

What a great 4x4 though, I never really understood why he kept it for so long, but now I do.

Looking forward to taking her off road soon, I've been looking online so hoping to find somewhere soon
