you have to remember that this is the first story so he's not the bond you know and love, I thought it was a very good effort and true to the book.

i think danial craig brought a ruthlessness back to the character and none of the underwater bow tie straightening rubbish brosnan did. IMHO

tesco's have it for 9.97 if you buy a chart CD / DVD.

asda wins (time limited i think)

How about the bit where he got poisoned by a Fox glove cocktail. He staggers to his car, pulls out the right anti-toxin and injects himself with it. Then he grabs his Defibrillator out the glove box and plugs himself in

Very Belivable

I think that all the oldies will always have their place for that apre Christmas lunch dose in front of the telly however Casino Royale has really grabbed the whole Bond concept and dragged it up to the standards that people expect from modern action films.

Whats more beliveable... the whole Defib scene in Casino Royale or Pierce Brosnan surfing down the side of a glacier.

I think my son summed it up quite nicely - if he was a real 'Bond' then after the big fight & defib scene he wouldn't have had to change his shirt, just fluffed the buttonhole a bit!!

A good film but not a classic Bond movie (IMHO).

Andy

ps - watch for the 'airborne' Aston Martin and record breaking roll sequence (most number of rolls by a stuntman) filmed outside my office on our test track!!!

Hehe thats a good site that

Well I saw it yesterday and quite enjoyed it, the stunts at the beginning with the free running guy were pretty good. I agree strongly with the earlier comment about Craigs lack of identitiy at the start, although I thought he looked more 'Bondish' as the film went on

CR - only Bond film I've liked so far...

This Bond suffers and bleeds some - more gritty than the effeminates like Pierce Brosnan and Roger Moore. Was also more gritty than the films with Connery.

But CP, you're right. The last 1/2 hour or so was soppy fluff.

I think too if you listen carefully in the airport scene, there is an announcement for a flight "007".

Ruthlessly soppy? I don't know, I haven't seen it yet... I have found all the Bond films entertaining, excepting the first Casino Royale, didn't care for that.
Here's a way to get a thread rolling... its been discussed many times, favorite Bond?

Sean Connery is my favourite but one of my favourite films was "For your eyes only" and that was Roger Moore. I also liked "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" which was George Lazenby.

Q has to be my favourite - and he was Welsh. Great bloke - sadly killed by a tree hitting his car not long ago in a storm.

On the Yank front I really liked the fat policeman from the deep south - really funny!!!
