Is there any logic???

Its Monday in Belgium, pretty cold, misty and no more beer left in the house--Even my last bottle of red has gone. You could say, nearly near to death. So here are some thoughts concerning taxes.

1. Why do we have to pay taxes on everyhing we buy.. ( VAT/SALES TAX/PURCHASE TAX) ..OK you use the roadds you pay road tax - normal , you use an airport - ok you pay a paassanger tax.. But why oh why do you have to pay on goods or services??? Even rates or council tax - I can understand...

As regards price of petrol - why is VAT levied on the total cost including excise duty??? ( a tax on tax ILLEGAL)

2. I can understand income tax and National insurance contributions- that serves a specific purpose related to oneself..
3. When I use to live in the UK, pubic services -- ( telepehone, rail, utilities )were controlled by the government and paid for out of income tax. I,e I was paying for these services and some of my money went into telephone lines , infrastructure and investmnet to keep these services. But when they were privatised , the governmnet did not re-imburse me any of my money. Why not!

I suppose you could say these are the rumblings of a stupid old sod.. but when you think about it... we seem to be paying a lot of money to somebody for nothing....

Tom Clancy in one of his last Jack Ryan novels has a very sound and logical approach as regards tax , when his luckless hero becomes president of the US.

Best thing you can do nowadays is get on the benefits gravy train.

Then you get everything free,

And even better when you get to retirement age and can't look after yourself, you still get everything free and those of us that have worked all our lives, paid taxes and bought a house, have to then sell the house to pay for some greedy Robber Baron that runs a care home.

Life has never been fair. Its just now its very unfair for the honest worker.

Trouble is the more you think about it the more angrier you get.

Ahh but she was at least honest enough to be in the correct party. All that remains of Labour is the party name - NOTHING else seems to represent what they have always stood for!!!

It is funny but the very people I used to hate the most in Labour - Tony Benn for example - are now the ones I admire because at least they have stuck to their principles.

Ah Codders, a little red under the Blue....

Only way to beat them is to have a Cash Business.
Give up yer auld sins (PAYE ) and run your own business..

Cash is King. The Tax Authority will always distrust you but there is a Charter there even if they distrust you and bully you, they now have to prove it where they once did not.......

They prey on the weak without money and squeeze those with it.
In fact they are actually useless and are a parasite on an economy, that is the tax people.

Of Life there are two things certain: Death and Taxes,,
