Which would be sublime. That said, I let my Chef saute them in butter and a little seasalt, and they were served beside a prime Donegal grass raised beef fillet glazed with a reduced Bordeaux jus.

Primo!

Yes and no.

My esteemed colleagues refer to them as Girolles, but you're correct. No truffles here, but we are blessed with Grey Chantrelles, Ceps, Pied de Mouton and Trompette du Mort.

When the French refer to Chantrelles, they mean Grey Chantrelles.

This has to be the best year for apples around here. Trees that didn't have much on them in the past have been loaded.
Great pear crop also
cheers

Ah jeeze Hank, yer breakin' me heart. Nothing here but wee wizened micro-apples. Is that a Hi-Lift jack I see in your kit? That your primary press engine??

Ah Hank - gimme break here dude! Two tons of juice?!? Our summer was awful - absolutely dreadful. I gave up on my crop in September and I'm currently composting the fallen fruit - not worth crushing.

I took some consolation this evening and went out burning cuttings and thinking about next year. Next year is going to be better, at least, I've convinced myself of that over a bottle of last year's cider...
