33 years - playing about in powerboats eek! went through a bad spell when I was 14 to 20 when you could find me on sailing dinghy 's - I grew out of that - those who have met me - that was never a truer word!

That was back when a kill cord was something James Bond pulled out a watch to dispose of the bad guy's henchman! 
Me? Boats- goodness knows! Motor boats- probably in the region of 30-ish years and ribs since the summer of 87...
Probably just as well I have no photos, but I did have a bouyancy aid not too dissimilar to TG's...

You're not wrong! She made it for me. Shamefully, I have to admit, that she sewed a bell on the top of it, so she could easily locate me, when I was out of sight!

You're close on the first one - it was in front of the Marine Hotel, the second would have been at Cooks boatyard which was where the Whitestrand car park is now!

Lovely read here guys... I am 46 years old and I bought my first Avon Rib 3 months ago and I enjoy every minute off it.... Why not earlier ? Lived in Holland most of my life and 12 years in the UK but moved to Southsea on the coast and got hooked.....

You know, when most of there pics were taken I bet the jack of predictive spelt check made communications so much less entertaining!

My aqua life kicked off with sinking Something over thirty years ago I was heading out to dive sites in one of two SIBs with Southsea Dive Club. The club itself had quite an illustrious history, being the place where Octopush was first devised, and being the home 'club' of one Alexander McKee, the true discoverer of the Mary Rose.
I got so used to the handling of SIBs that it came as quite a shock when I found that I did not have to take it so easy over somewhat rougher stuff when I started going to dive sites in RIBs - what luxury
Gradually I got more and more interested in the boats that are an essential part of diving, and got hooked.
Haven't dived now for a couple of years; but my kit in the garage keeps shouting at me
