I think they are getting bigger and I have a theory.

More flies about due to th ebins only being emptied once every 2 weeks.
when it rains the nasy magots come out of the bins and look for somwhere nice to pupate.
mr and mrs spider take advantage of this as they basically have food come to their door.

well thats my theory.

seen alot of pupa cases in the old spiders webs.

No Spiders we harmed during this research but if one get in myt house its over for it .. .. :-)

Actually our problem at the moment isnt the spiders, its the fecking mice!.... Happens every year after the crops get harvested the little buggers seek refuge any lace they can...
Got one that has managed to get into the ventilation system of old Pajero!... It stinks of piss every time i switch the heater on and it think the little bugger is now stuck in the fan unit. You put the fan on now and it sounds like a fecking Bomag wacker plate....... ;-(

I'm not sure why we get so many .. we have an open plan house and generally they prefer nooks, crannies and draughtless corners, pretty much what we dont have ? TBH they dont bother me at all .. they pretty much keep to themselves, and I too believe they are probably doing a tidy up .. but they must need a dump somewhere too ?

We had a huge one of those in the downstairs karzi for a couple of seasons. His name was Horace and he wasn't the brightest - he kept getting stuck in the sink. However, we left a bit of string dangling in it and he was able to escape up that. People used to wonder what it was for. We really enjoyed the screams when folks were in there - Horace used to lurk behind the toilet and then scuttle out when it was quiet (or when someone was sitting quietly - like I say, not the brightest spider).

Finally he croaked, but I like to think it was old age did for him. Taking a "pony" is a lot less fraught now

Must of been like being in a wind tunnel :-)

Im sure that centrifugal force has now killed him after whizzing around in the fan at 600 rpm but im now looking at the prospect of stripping the dash out in order to remove the fan and clean out the cadaver....PITA...
