Andy, I do admire your diligence in attempting to catch that mouse alive, but it's really not to be recommended having them using your house as a latrine for over a week, particularly if you've got young kids. The spring loaded traps are humane in that they are lethally effective - the mouse literally won't know what hit it.

It's a wonder you haven't told him to use a punt gun.....

I'd like to strap it to the roof rails on the Shogun and deal with people who cruise down the middle lane of an otherwise empty motorway.

Andy, I once used a humane trap for a little mouse and released it 'out in the wild' i.e. a quiet laneway behind the house. Unfortunately as I released the little captive, a lady turned the corner walking her two (unleashed) greyhounds...

The rest is like Pete 7's saga of the electrocuted hamster I'm afraid.

Killed a mouse early this year with the argos catalogue, just hung over the end of the sofa until the bugger came out and dropped the extra argos catalogue on top of it - clean kill too!

Beats watching tv too!

ps - the back cover does wipe clean....

No news on the Mouse front yet. I did however speak to one of my friends today. He gave me horror stories of Mice that he's still having troubles with 1 year on.

He traps them in spring loaded traps and suggested I do the same quickly before it all gets out of hand.

You need one of these: available from any good pet shop.

Cought one just last night, that our cat brought in yesterday. she seems to bring them in, and let them go, often without harming them (not always)

This humane trap works every time. we seem to get one every couple of weeks. in the summer, she manages to catch, and bring in little bats! now they're a whole different matter when it comes to catching them!

My s16 with laser sight is fun

My cat is the best mice rabbits rats etc problem is she has a liking for frogs and was bringing in 2 or 3 a night but doesn't eat them , we keep finding dried up frogs under the furniture . I am fed up with catching frogs and putting them outside

Jonny, I've two of these traps and they have worked in the past. Not so far this time though. I seem to have Ghost or Super Mice.

which boat do you refer to here ? the one in my profile I guess . probably more nature friendly than your leviathan , which doesn't sound like a veggie boat to me . they don't make a 2cv rib do they

Living in the countryside does mean that you have a constant battle with vermin.

I live "Out in the country": Score so far this year is:
20 scorpions
2 rattlesnakes in back garden
3 Cactus wrens flying around the house
1 wild pig ( pack of 5) attack in front garden, on my 100 lb. choc. lab. Ripped his shoulder open and cost $1000 vet bill + 45 days rabies quarantine.
3 dead rabbits floating in swimming pool
1 tarrantula spider the size of a saucer on back patio ( these are actualy good guys)
2 pack rats built nest under bonnet of by truck and ate out all the ignition wiring.
I mouse hatching 10 babys under fridge; sorry they all got flushed.
A couple of years ago my wife layed down on the couch for, a nap and commented that the cushion was moving. There was a rabbit under the cushion.
Sooooo, by my standards Qty. 1 house mouse is a very small problem.

thats nothing!

after it rained the other day i had to pic up 3 dead worms off the patio before my young family were able to step outside into the garden to play

also to the issue of mouses in the houses or garage

we get them from time to time in the garage and i like the nice pleasing snap from a bit of sprung loaded metal taking the little blighter to task.

they do a lot of damage so i am not sorry to see them go, sorry about that, no erection Mr fuller just the relief that no more chewing damage in the garage. and if i let them go they will be back unless i travel a bit of a distance but not willing to do that for a pest.

have used the humane ones in the past but if you dont get to them in time they die of thirst/hunger which seems more cruel in a way.

so snap snap it is for me
