The turbo lag was horrendous, but once it had spooled up it was really exciting. And with the permanent 4wd the progress you could make down twisty country lanes was unbelievable.

I was driven round goodwood race circuit by a friend in his Opel Monza. On a tight right hander just before the long straight the kickdown activated (it was an auto) and we went sideways at 70 mph.

I needed a change of clothing when we got back to the pits.

for fans of the Mk 1 Fiesta in all its guises !!!
this was me getting some air on the ranges at Otterburn in a 1300cc !
adding to my list - a Mk 1 XR2, an R5 GT Turbo - brilliant car but TWOC'd 4 times! in the end I gave up and got a Mini Metro City with a billy big button radio in it...could leave it unlocked and no one would take it.

Do you remember the long conveyer belt that carried the cars through the middle of the building?
I ran the gang of sub-contract valeter's that worked on there.

I suppose you could put the Alpine GTA in this group as well then
(Never owned but drove a few)
