Holiday Destinations

OK, planning to take a family holiday in Late May early June and am after some ideas as I have never really been on or booked a holiday.

- Nice Beach with some activities like Waterskiing, jet skiing etc.
- Child Freindly with meals etc for kids and babysitting services
- Sunny and good weather guaranteed (so not merry old England then!)
- Not so hot you need factor 100 to walk outside
- Not Spain (Wife is Spanish and wants to go somwhere different)
- Nice accomodation (don't mind if it costs a few quid)
- Good food and local restaurants
- Creche for the sprog (will be about 3 yrs by then)
- Hotel or chalet type accomodation
- Small and personal type location

Any ideas?

We did a Mark Warner in Greece last year and had a brilliant time. Kids clubs are the best we've ever used for all ages. Just don't go to Paleros because the accommodation is in desparate need of a refurb. The Kos resort has just been fully refurbed over the Winter so should be lovely but is one of their larger resorts.

I hear that Neilson and Sunsail are also excellent.

I have also heard good things about Neilsons but have not tried them!
I have tried Sunsail & was very disappointed with staff & accommodation spent the hole week thinking I wish we had gone with Mark Warner! They did close that resort after that year so maybe we were unlucky!

Chris - myself and my family (wife and young daughter) stayed with this lot a few years ago and really enjoyed ourselves. For accommodation, they can organise self-catering up to high-end hotel ...and anything in between.

Some of good points
- less than an hour south of Athens (on island of Poros - yes it's spelt right, it's not Paros or Paxos!)
- Small, friendly, laidback island
- Watersports centre is very friendly and helpful (set you up a tab when you arrive so you don't need to carry cash around when you want food/drink from their outdoor (shaded) bar overlooking the centre and beautiful Neurion Bay
- Great laid-back instruction as often, or as little, as you like.
- Lovely little beaches close by, such as 'Love Cove' where you place your lounger on the sand in a few inches of water, don't have to move for drinks or snacks, and when it gets too hot you just roll over and you're in the Med!
- Lots of good restaurants locally
- Very child-friendly but in a way that you control, rather than activities being controlled for you in a complex
- Good base for sight-seeing, if you're than way inclined
- Good on price
