Help, Brass Bolt suggestions.

We have a quantity of Brass Bolts that need a new home.
Any suggestions as to a good use for them will be gratefully received.

A complete cock up by a contractor at work who has now left, we are trying to recover some of the cost somehow.

Solid Brass, M6 x 65mm Hex head. Plain shank length of 47mm.
They have cost us £0.21 each, but we are open to offers.

Oh and the quantity, – 50,000!!

Nasher.

Send a message via Skype™ to Limey Linda
Have you asked the supplier what his re-stocking fee would be?

Hi all

Scrap will be the option if we can't do any better.

The original supplier just doesn't want them back as they were specially manufactured for us, hence the MOQ of 50,000.

All 3 Fastener suppliers we use have said they will remember we have them if they get any enquiries.

The ebay option would just be too much hassle to do through work, but I've thought about buying them myself and doing it if the scrap value is low enough.

I just wondered if anyone knew of an industry that uses Brass out of preferance.

I take it that recovering this money from the contractor that cocked up is impossible? I think that scrap value is the only route as the bolt size is a very specific one with a very big plain length. The sort of company that might use these are Pneumatic cylinders and valve manufacturers.

Keep them and then when a new product is launched make sure that they use the same type of bolt. Wouldn't cost any extra if new moulds and tooling was being made anyway.
