It is 1080 P. I'm putting up with Sky HD Movies until the players either get cheaper, below the 200 quid mark, or they can play both types of disk.
I think the films themselves are well priced. HD DVD is about 15 quid a pop and Blu Ray nearer 20 quid. I though they would have both been 30 quid a go at this stage.

NR.

Would best go with the PS3 for now then as DVD's have to be up sampled to 1080p, whereas thats native for blueray. Although its a games console, its still the cheapest blue ray by miles, but give it a few months

Best unless youve money to burn IMHO .. Cos DVD's arn't encoded as 1080p so they have to be upscaled.. and unless youve got a shed load of cash to throw at an upscaler whats the point ? Even then.. you cant invent material that doesnt exist from your original DVD ! And at best your 1080 screen will be giving you a best manageable picture

Whats your screen ? cos I'm on the horns of a dilemma atm regarding choice for mine?

The 360 Elite is around the corner as well which has HD DVD. I love a price war.
