A few useful things that will help out with work on the boat, namely cordless drill (saves using the inverter all the time), decent drill bits, oh, and a radio controlled fork lift truck to stay in practice while on leave from work 
You not thought about Dell Axim? - I have one of the X3's with wlan, bluetooth etc... excellent bit of kit.

ipaq 4700 with 640x480 vga screen so great for the net built in wfi as well.
cost 380 all in - will be great for maps and charts getting bluetooth gps for it soon
