Happy Chappy

As many of you know, since moving home to N Pembs about 18 months ago, I joined the local lifeboat crew (an ambition for a while). We have a D (IB1) and Atlantic 75 on station....

Well, I am pleased to report that I have today passed out as a D Class Helm....ours is a fun patch with heavy surf and a nasty bar into the river etc, and today didn't dissapoint

It was kicking up nicely....still, would prefer to have done it like that than flat calm if only for my own satisfaction....

Concious there's no real angle to this thread, it's just i'm still buzzing and wanted to share...if anyone is contemplating joining the RNLI (or independent lifeboats etc) I would highly recommend it, there are some tough times, but the rest more than makes up for it....as I'm sure others on here will testify!

Off to the pub with family for a celebratory drink!

Dan

Cheers guys! Happy to report the pub was every bit as good as i'd hoped

Never mind the Guinness willk, several pints of the local Felinfoel (affectionately known as 'feeling fowl') 'double dragon'....always does the trick
