got me started, please comment USA friends

on the ribs and ribbing forum, there is a heading don't take the sea for granted, where some of you USA guys voiced your opinion fair enough, but I would like to ask, a friend says the USA is similar and this thing happens there as well...the thing is this...I know a huge amount of people who take the state for a ride as it is so easy to end up on full income capacity benifit in the UK, with really nothing wrong anymore, they claim for there nice flat/house, council charges are paid for them and they have plenty of cash, if you add it all up it can get close to $50,000 can this happen in the USA ?

PS I know there are many genuine cases, sadly 95% of the people I know are not

Don't know about $50K/yr, but yeah, gov't will subsidize.

There's about a thousand different aid programs, and people abuse all of them. Too bad, too, since they'd actually do good if applied only where it was needed and warranted.

Not sure how you got there from the story of a stolen dinghy, but then again, I haven't revisited the thread in a while.

Really? Would you like to tell me how I can go about this?

The same way my old landlord in Bradford got income support for a family of 6 yet owned 5 houses there and half an estate in Pakistan.

I'm pulling the plug on this one. If you want to continue the discussion please take it to www.wtf.com for a good rant!

Thanks
