Crazyhorse,

If you going to meet Flanker can I suggest you take a video camera with you. Given his current form the footage should be worth a fortune,

Pete

- There are moments when a video camera is the number one necessity, but never have I had one at the right moment. Now these are times when other people suffer terrible misfortune, but never mind sympathy and compassion, we need a laugh (and the £250 from ITV!!!)

a couple of incidents when I wished I had the camcorder:
1. boy roller skates along pavement, watching traffic (yes, you've probably guessed it...) - he goes straight into a lamp post

2. Kingsbridge, at top of the estuary above Salcombe, tide ebbing fast, chap decides to launch SIB. He drags it over the mud flats to the trickle of water that's left and once the SIB is in the water starts the outboard. But the little water that's left pushes him back to the muddy bank. He puts the engine in reverse, but too late - stuck! Whilst trying to push off with one of the oars, the engine, still in reverse, digs into the mud and constantly throws the black sludgy stuff all over him and slowly fills the boat. Yuch!

Flanker/Happy 1's account of his launch day was amusing but I have a fair degree of sympathy for him. We all have fun and games on slipways from time to time, especially the first few times out. Even us so called experienced folks can still drop a bollock from time to time. Witness yours truly wondering why his boat wouldn't float off the trailer at last years rib.net Thames cruise. The fact that it was still firmly strapped down to the trailer at the stern probably had something to do with it..............

No pete,I cought him on the way home from Sunday on the M25 and he was still an unhappy bunny.I couldnt get a full picture of what had happend Sunday exept they went out 13 miles down the Medway and all returned ok.It was obviouse that there dealer hadnt got a clue in directing them to launch where they did with the equipment they had with them.

I havent spocken to Flanker since but am ringing him weds for the final directions and arrangments for Saturday/sunday.I am staying at the Cruising Club at Lime house ,London on Friday if anybody wants a pint.

Manos and I will take our pics and post them when we are back with subtitles.

Just spocken to Flank, and all sorted for Saturday hopefully.Volvo man working on problem tommorow,Friday so should be sorted for Saturday,Sounds like a Fresh water Flusher pipe end has come off to me and is loosing raw water into the bilge? Its being looked at friday day,Flank thinks it may of overheated a bit but isnt sure, till further inspection. So we will see.

Were going from Chatham I think and I believe the tide is around 11 am Sat but havent looked it up yet.So it will be an early start As I like mi bed.
Looking forward to it and Manos is joining us,when his flight arrives from Greece, then its all suited up for a nosh Sat eve.

I will take my password with me so as to maybe get acces if JK lets us use Flanks computers .

Then out again Sunday,I then have to drive back to Blackpool knackered. Worth it though.

Hey People
Every one has to learn one way or the other,
I'm normally the one who learns the hard way.
Sounds like everyone got home safe which is what counts.
