Economies of scale often mean that unless you have the gear anyway, it's not worth it. Buy a ready seasoned split load put on your doorstep.
& where's the fun in that I LIKE playing with my Chainsaw & Splitter + it keeps me fit & is more productive than going to the gym. If you applied your same logic to boats you'd never use your RIB............

I used to use a splitting maul, it's still in the back of the shed somewhere, where it will remain. Getting to old for all that, I'm happy to be just a leeeetle bit fit I once got a load of elm given in rings to split, never again

Yes, but I live in the woods and use it around the house about every other month, if not every month.

What service? Mine hasn't needed anything but the air filter cleaned, and barely even that. Go Husky!

I bought two semi chisel chains to replace the safety chain. I bought my own powered sharpener $24 US dollars, and can sharpen a chain in about 7 minutes.

Two quarts of oil and clean the air filter? It is a simple machine.

Like others I don't mind the exercise.

I built my own towbar (Receiver hitch) with materials in my garage, and built my own trailer. If by service you mean put air in the tires and pump a little grease into the hubs every once in a while, okay. My trailers gets a fair amount of use for other projects.

My axe is very old, my sledge was free and never gets used.

If I paid for the amount of wood I used a year it would cost around $1,800 US dollars. My savings over heating with gas would not be there. I guarantee my expenses for getting wood over the year do not exceed $100 US dollars

Now for someone occasionally using a couple of sticks in the fireplace for ambiance, then yeah, get someone to dump a wood pile in the yard.
