Ferry Crash

At the North end of Dartmouth we have a ferry which crosses the river on a chain system.....that was up until today! This morning, strong northerly winds and a racing falling tide caused the ferry to break it's chains, it drifted downstream having lost power and crashed in to a pontoon! The ferry carries cars and foot passengers, no-one appears to have been hurt. The Torbay lifeboat arrived on the scene quickly and disembarked the passengers and now firecrews and members of VT marine are assesing the situation.
