Lets hope its a lot better than the Ferryboat at Helford Passage , went there last week by RIB on a foul night and arrived in full waterproofs got undressed outside and was looked at like aliens!
Food ok but the prices are Chelsea and imagine serving moules without bread! Bread was £1.50 extra .
Contrast to Shipwrights at Helford which was really good great steaks and we asked for some garlic butter a huge bowl was put on the table no extra charge!

The Ferryboat was a managed house until the manager went skint last summer. This lot took it over http://www.wrightbros.eu.com/. As they run an Oyster bar in Covent Garden, they thought that the same would work down here. To be fair, the food is a lot better than it was, but the prices are on the trumpy side.

I note that not all your compatriots are as happy

Good for Falmouth? No. The only thing its good for is Rick Stein's pocket. And that is surely why he is doing it, not for the town. Try going to Padstow, and you'll see what I mean. You'll pay an arm and a leg just so you can say you ate in Rick Stein's chippy. I don't think there will be many local people who eat there, or could even afford to eat there. Maybe the hordes of tourists (all 2 weeks of the year?) might fall for it, but the other 52 weeks of the year, he will have to rely on us. Lets just hope there are enough social climbers and namedroppers in Falmouth to keep him in business.

Full of sh1t as well....... I paid £6.00 for cod and chips there last year only about £1.00 more than my local chippy charges and I know which I preferred.

Ditto...the fish and chips were crap. Have tried three f&c shops in Falmouth/Padstow now and they were all crap

The best F&C's I've eaten for a little more money than average. It'll be good for Falmouth IMV.
