Good for Falmouth? No. The only thing its good for is Rick Stein's pocket. And that is surely why he is doing it, not for the town. Try going to Padstow, and you'll see what I mean. You'll pay an arm and a leg just so you can say you ate in Rick Stein's chippy. I don't think there will be many local people who eat there, or could even afford to eat there. Maybe the hordes of tourists (all 2 weeks of the year?) might fall for it, but the other 52 weeks of the year, he will have to rely on us. Lets just hope there are enough social climbers and namedroppers in Falmouth to keep him in business.
